Getting around will be even easier with new, colorful signs, maps, route diagrams and schedules directing you throughout the RTA transit system. After testing prototypes and soliciting user feedback, the RTA fine-tuned the designs and is now installing the new informational products at four locations that represent a wide range of possible weather and visibility conditions:
- Davis Street - Evanston (CTA Rail and Bus, Metra, and Pace)
- Joliet Union Station – (Metra and Pace)
- 95th and Western – (CTA Bus and Pace)
- Van Buren/Library/Jackson – (CTA Rail and Bus, Metra)
Installation at these sites is complete. A one year demonstration period will allow additional user testing and evaluation. Upon completion of this demonstration and evaluation period, the RTA will develop and adopt design standards for information products at interagency locations throughout the region.
